Jeffrey F. Caren, MD, FACC

 

Jeffrey F. Caren, MD has been in practice since 1978.  He is an Attending Physician in the Division of Cardiology and member of the Heart Center at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He currently serves on the Cardiology Performance Improvement Committee and the Medicine Performance Improvement Committee. He maintains a full time private practice providing primary and consultative cardiology care. His main interest is preventive cardiology and the treatment of coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure and cardiac rhythm abnormalities.

Dr. Caren is a life-long California resident. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in philosophy and earned a MD degree at University of California, San Francisco Medical Center. He published extensively and earned the Deans Prize in Research. After serving in the US Army Medical Corp as a major, he completed a cardiology fellowship at the UCLA-West Los Angeles Veteran’s Medical Center.

Dr. Caren is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Caren is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at U.C.L.A. He has taught medical students continuously for more than 25 years. 

Dr. Caren has served as Chief of Medicine and Chief of Critical Care in two Los Angeles community hospitals. He has maintained offices in the Cedars-Sinai Medical Towers for more than 25 years. He is on the board of the Beverly Hills Chapter of the Los Angeles County Medical Association.

Dr Caren is an avid photographer. His photographs are displayed at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and the Cedars Medical Towers and of course his office. They have appeared in stage productions and film.
